Sorting

The material, now "ultra-clean" according to the IDFB definition, is automatically transferred from the washing lines to the sorting machines. Propelled inside the sorter by an ascending airflow, the feathers and down are thus naturally separated and calibrated within different chambers according to their weight and lift capacity. This natural sorting, which requires a specific and rigorous know-how, makes it possible to obtain various sizes classed into 3 main categories:

Feather / Small, fine feathers / Down
